RE 5525 Introduction

Hello RE/SPE 5525 class

We will meet for one face-to-face class–see schedule and email messages from me.

Please bring your computer to class.

For RE/SPE 5525, you will be uploading artifacts (assignments) to TK20 to address the 5 NC Graduate Teaching Standards (see examples page). Please look at the standards and think about assignments/artifacts that you can use to address the standards. It will be in your interest to find all of the artifacts that you will/might use in your POL before our class meeting. Copy and paste them into a folder, so you can find them easily when we meet.

Please login to TK20 once you are set up with the POL. Use your ASU id and password (may need your banner id number).

Please look at the tk20 portfolio before class.

Also, look at this information:

(1) North Carolina Graduate Teaching Standards—we will be addressing these in the POL (1 artifact/assignment for each standard–except Standard 3 where you will have 2 artifacts, the second one being ILA or CEC table). (examples page)

(2a) International Literacy Association (ILA) standards blank form—you will fill this out and use as one of your artifacts in the POL for standard 3 (Reading Education) (examples page)

(2b) ILA standard example—use this to help you complete the ILA standard table (above) (Reading Education) (examples page)

(2c) CEC Advanced Standards blank form—you will fill this out and use as one of your artifacts in the POL for standard 3 (Special Education) (examples page)

(2d) CEC standard example—use this to help you complete the CEC standard table (above)(Special Education) (examples page)

I have a course blog: https://productoflearningtrathen.wordpress.com/

You will find the syllabus and resources on this blog.

Please email me if you have questions.
